Civil Protection Units intervention results between May 10 and 11, 2026 (in the last 24 hours)

  

  During the period from May 10 to 11, 2026 (until 8:00 AM), Civil Protection units recorded 2,900 interventions (an average of one intervention every 29 seconds), including 2,116 medical evacuations and 414 other operations, across several provinces of the country. These interventions followed distress calls from citizens and covered various areas of Civil Protection activity, including traffic accidents, domestic accidents, medical evacuations, firefighting, and security operations.

In the context of traffic accidents, Civil Protection units responded to 166 incidents across various provinces of the country. These accidents resulted in 3 fatalities and 171 injuries of varying severity. The victims received on-site medical attention and were then transported by our services to local hospitals. The most serious incident occurred in the province of Guelma, where 1 person died and 1 was injured in a collision between a car and a passenger bus on National Route 21, in the municipality of Nachmaya, within the district of Kelaat Bousbaa.

It should be noted that Civil Protection services also intervened to provide first aid to 9 people suffering from carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning due to faulty heating appliances and water heaters in their homes. These incidents occurred in the provinces of Jijel (5 people), Algiers (3 people), and Medea (1 person). The victims received on-site medical attention and were then transported in stable condition to local health centers.

In addition to the intervention of the Civil Protection units of the state of Tlemcen to retrieve the body of a 25-year-old man who died inside a water basin located in the place called Sidi Senoussi, Sidi Abdelli municipality and Ben Sekrane district, the victim’s body was transferred to the local hospital.
