Civil Protection Units intervention results between May 12 and 13, 2026 (in the last 24 hours)

  

  Between May 12 and 13, 2026 (until 8:00 AM), Civil Protection units recorded 3,155 interventions (an average of one intervention every 27 seconds), including 2,151 medical evacuations and 546 other operations, across several provinces of the country. These interventions followed distress calls from citizens and covered various areas of Civil Protection activity, including traffic accidents, domestic accidents, medical evacuations, firefighting, and security operations.

In the context of traffic accidents, the Civil Protection units carried out 187 interventions following numerous accidents recorded in various provinces of the country. These accidents resulted in the death of 7 people at the scene and injuries to 252 others of varying severity. The victims were treated at the scene and then transferred by our services to local hospitals. The heaviest toll was recorded in the province of Setif, with 3 deaths and 3 injuries in 2 traffic accidents. The first accident: 2 deaths and 2 injuries following a collision between a truck and a car on National Road No. 78, in the municipality of Guellal, Ain Oulmane district. The second accident: 1 death and 1 injury following a chain collision between three cars on National Road No. 5, in the municipality of Bazer Sakra, El Eulma district. For your information, the Civil Protection elements of the state of Boumerdès intervened to extinguish a fire that broke out inside a plastic recycling workshop, in the place called Al-Mashmisha neighborhood, the municipality of Ouled Moussa and the district of Khemis El Khechna. Our services’ intervention made it possible to control this fire and prevent it from spreading to the other neighboring places, as 05 intervention teams were deployed, including: 04 fire trucks and 01 ambulance, without any human losses being recorded.
