Civil Protection Units intervention results between September 27 and October 4, 2026 (weekly results)

  Between September 27 and October 4, 2026, Civil Protection units recorded 26,062 interventions in response to distress calls from citizens. These operations covered a wide range of Civil Protection activities, including responses to traffic accidents, domestic incidents, medical evacuations, firefighting, and security coverage for various events.

Regarding medical evacuations, Civil Protection units carried out 15,842 interventions, during which personnel provided aid to and transported 15,496 injured and sick individuals to hospitals.

In the context of traffic accidents, Civil Protection units responded to 1,467 incidents involving 2,517 interventions. These accidents resulted in 42 fatalities and injuries to 1,686 others, who received medical aid and were transported to hospital facilities. The highest casualty toll was recorded in the province of Setif, where 56 traffic accidents resulted in five deaths at the scene and injuries to 74 people.

Civil Protection units also conducted 2,219 interventions to extinguish 1,576 fires—including domestic, industrial, and other types of fires. The highest numbers of incidents were recorded in the province of Algiers (160 fires), Blida (104 fires), and Tizi Ouzou (75 fires). Furthermore, during the same period, our operational units carried out 5,484 interventions—rescuing 443 people in distress and providing emergency medical assistance in 4,659 cases.

Additionally, forest and crop firefighting teams intervened to extinguish 154 vegetation fires across various provinces. These included 15 forest fires, 5 scrub fires, 50 brush fires, 32 fruit tree fires, 39 hay bale fires, and 12 palm tree fires. Notably, the rapid and effective response of our teams succeeded in extinguishing these fires and preventing them from spreading to surrounding vegetation.
