Floods
Flooding is a natural phenomenon that occurs when the water level in any valley increases to exceed the level of its banks and overwhelms them. The faster the water flows from the source to the valley, the greater the flood.
Steep topography,
Mountainous areas,
Small casting basins,
-Sudden, very fast and powerful, difficult to predict.
Flat topography.
Slow and predictable rise in water levels.
Large catchment areas and longer rainfall periods.
Floods outside natural streams due to loss of natural permeability of the land due to reconstruction
Water drainage channels cannot accommodate the amounts of falling and liquid water.
– Moving furniture, appliances and other personal items to the upper floors
Place toxic materials, such as pesticides, in safe places to prevent contamination
– Shutting down electricity and gas supplies
Listen to the radio to follow instructions
Do not use the phone, except when necessary
Do not attempt to pass through a stream on foot if the water level is above your knee.
If you are driving your car, be careful not to drive in a place where you do not know the depth of the water. -If your car breaks down in the water, go to a high place because the rushing water may sweep away the car and those in it.
