Twelfth edition of half of the civil protection officers from Djelfa Province
As part of the 2025 sports activities program and within the framework of developing sports and physical education in the Civil Protection sector, the General Directorate of Civil Protection is organizing the 12th National Half Marathon for Civil Protection Agents in Djelfa Province on December 22, 2025. This edition will be dedicated to the memory of the two fallen heroes of duty: Lieutenant Colonel Berdji Radouane, Commander of the Civil Protection Air Group, and Captain Ghallab Souhaib, a pilot. The event will be held under the supervision of Colonel Ouglis Toufik, Director of Human Resources at the General Directorate of Civil Protection, and Mr. Djahid Mous, Governor of Djelfa Province, in the presence of central officials from the General Directorate, local authorities, and invited guests.
170 Civil Protection agents of various ranks (130 men and 40 women) representing different Civil Protection directorates across the country, as well as the National Training and Intervention Unit, the National School, and its branches, will participate in this half marathon. This race will take place in the municipality of Zafrane, covering a distance of 14 kilometers for the senior men’s category and 7 kilometers for both the middle-aged men’s and women’s categories, as well as the senior women’s category.
The choice of this city was not accidental, but rather dictated by the region’s captivating natural beauty. The area’s picturesque landscapes, with their golden sands and stunning scenery, offer visitors a sense of tranquility amidst the verdant steppe. This contributes to the promotion of steppe tourism in this picturesque region, which is a rich part of our country. It also provides a valuable opportunity to test the abilities of the participating personnel.
Such competitions aim to develop the physical capabilities of civil protection personnel and prepare them to perform rescue and first aid tasks effectively. These tasks are often fraught with danger and require considerable physical strength. Furthermore, they reinforce and sustain efforts to develop sports in general within the civil protection sector.
