Results of intervention by civil protection units between December 14 and 15, 2025 (during the last 24 hours)

   

During the period from December 14 to 15, 2025 (until 8:00 AM), Civil Protection units recorded 3,114 interventions (an average of one intervention every 27 seconds), including 2,408 medical evacuations and 389 other operations, across several provinces of the country. These interventions followed distress calls from citizens and covered various areas of Civil Protection activity, including traffic accidents, domestic accidents, medical evacuations, firefighting, and security operations.

In the context of traffic accidents, Civil Protection units responded to 162 incidents across several provinces of the country. These accidents resulted in 7 deaths at the scene and injuries to 181 others, ranging in severity. The victims received on-site treatment and were then transported by our services to local hospitals. The most serious incident occurred in the province of Tamanrasset, where 2 people died in a collision between a car and a motorcycle in the area known as Qatt’ al-Wad, in the municipality and district of Tamanrasset.

Civil Protection services also intervened to provide first aid to 9 people suffering from carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning due to faulty heating appliances and water heaters in their homes. Six of these cases were in the province of Tipaza, and three in the province of Bordj Bou Arreridj. The victims received on-site treatment and were then transported to local hospitals.

For your information, Civil Protection units intervened to extinguish two separate urban fires in the provinces of Sidi Bel Abbès and Guelma, with no casualties reported. Our emergency services successfully contained these fires and prevented their spread to neighboring areas.

Furthermore, the Civil Protection services in the province of Mostaganem provided first aid to five people suffering from burns following a butane gas cylinder explosion inside a residence in the Tafaska neighborhood, Sidi Ali municipality and district. The victims were evacuated to the local hospital.
