Weekly report on the intervention of the Civil Protection units between 07 and 13 December 2025 (Weekly Report)

 

Between December 7th and 13th, 2025, Civil Protection units recorded 25,457 interventions following distress calls from citizens. These interventions covered various areas of Civil Protection activity, including traffic accidents, domestic accidents, medical evacuations, firefighting, and providing security coverage for various events.

Regarding medical evacuations, our units carried out 16,042 interventions, during which 15,708 injured and sick individuals were treated and transported to hospitals by Civil Protection personnel.

In the context of traffic accidents, Civil Protection units carried out 2,107 interventions for 1,209 traffic accidents, resulting in 42 deaths and 1,415 injuries. The injured were treated and transported to hospitals. The highest toll was recorded in Boumerdès Province, with 3 deaths at the scene and 39 injuries in 39 traffic accidents.

Civil Protection units also carried out 904 interventions, extinguishing 561 fires, including residential, industrial, and other types of fires. The most significant fires were recorded in Algiers Province (95 fires), Oran (33 fires), and Blida (23 fires).

In addition, during the same period, our units carried out 6,404 interventions in various operations, rescuing 551 people in danger and providing 5,592 emergency medical services.

Regarding incidents related to carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning from various heating appliances and water heaters, the Civil Protection services carried out 32 interventions during the same period, which allowed for the provision of first aid to 72 people poisoned by this dangerous gas, who were transferred to hospital institutions, with the death of 4 people poisoned by carbon monoxide gas recorded in the province of Oum El Bouaghi (2 people), Blida (1 person) and Tiaret (1 person).
