The General Directorate of Civil Protection celebrates International Children’s Day

In celebration of Universal Children’s Day, observed annually on June 1st, the General Directorate of Civil Protection, accompanied by the National Training and Intervention Unit, participated in the events organized by the Ministry of National Solidarity, Family, and Women’s Affairs at the Martyrs’ Memorial in Riad El Feth Square, Algiers.

The event featured an interactive space and an awareness-raising exhibition for children and families, including numerous recreational, educational, and awareness-raising workshops. These workshops aimed to instill a culture of prevention and safety in children in a simple and enjoyable way, and to introduce them to the various tasks of the Civil Protection and its role in protecting people and property.

Furthermore, educational and practical workshops were held on the principles of first aid, preventing home accidents, and proper conduct when facing various dangers. These workshops, along with recreational activities and engaging competitions, contributed to bringing joy and happiness to the children and reinforcing preventative messages in their minds.

The event also featured a distinguished participation from the Civil Protection Cubs teams of the Blida Civil Protection Directorate. This training and educational space aims to instill values ​​of citizenship, volunteerism, and discipline in young people, highlighting the role these teams play in promoting a culture of prevention and first aid within the community.

The Civil Protection Cubs also presented practical demonstrations in first aid, showcasing a high level of training and mastery of basic first aid techniques.

This participation reflects the Civil Protection’s commitment to supporting various initiatives aimed at children and contributing to building a generation aware of and imbued with a culture of prevention and safety. This is achieved by bringing children closer to the Civil Protection service and familiarizing them with the importance of preventative measures in protecting lives and property.

In the same vein, and amidst an atmosphere of joy and celebration, the General Directorate of Civil Protection commemorated World Children’s Day, which falls on June 1st, in coordination and organization with the “Beautiful Horizon” Youth and Sports Association and its professional partner, Ooredoo. The event also saw active participation from the Directorate of Youth and Sports of Algiers, representatives of civil society, and the University of Algiers 2, and took place at the National Training and Intervention Unit.

The activities were attended by the Director of Human Resources of the General Directorate of Civil Protection, the Commander of the National Training and Intervention Unit, and the Deputy Director of Social Activities, along with representatives of partner organizations and institutions.

The event featured a rich and diverse program for children, including recreational, educational, and awareness-raising activities, as well as demonstrations and interactive workshops that allowed children to discover the tasks of the Civil Protection and learn about the principles of prevention and safety in a simple and engaging way. Through this initiative, the General Directorate of Civil Protection was keen to share the joy of this international occasion with children, bringing happiness and delight to their hearts by providing spaces for recreation, learning, and interaction. This reflects the humanitarian and solidarity-based dimension of its mission towards all segments of society.

This occasion provided an opportunity to put smiles on children’s faces, reinforce the values ​​of solidarity and citizenship, and instill a culture of prevention within them. This aligns with the ongoing efforts of the Civil Protection to build a generation aware of various risks and capable of contributing to the dissemination of safety and prevention practices within the community.
